ABSTRACT

Business development is a generic concept, but it is unique to each individual organisation based on development goals and prevailing conditions. It is an ongoing process that has a starting point when the company is set up, but no endpoint. The development goals may look different and vary from economic growth to increased market shares, from product innovation and development to just increased profit. Charity businesses and social entrepreneurships may not be growth oriented in monetary terms, but instead strive to grow benefits within their specific business areas.
