ABSTRACT
This chapter builds on the work on cultural practices in Chapter 2 to develop strategies and disciplines for approaching and making sense of the culturally strange. In so doing, it capitalises on the everyday complexity of cultural practices as something we all have an understanding of, and through which we might fi nd a route to the unfamiliar.
