ABSTRACT
A development manager in New Jersey had questions about how to address a request from a build-to-suit customer that requested he incorporate solar into the development project. Because this project was being built to the customer’s specifications, the costs of the project would be incorporated into the deal and amortized into the lease rate. This would also include the solar array costs. The customer wanted to explore adding solar to reduce operating costs and meet corporate sustainability goals.
