Such visual effects have the greater challenge of attaining realism. An important part of this challenge involves the matching of moving cameras. If the real-world camera tilts, pans, dollies, or is hand-held, the 3D-generated visual effects must pick up the same camera motion. To determine the camera motion, you can apply motion tracking . Although there are many pieces of software that undertake this task, there are manual methods you can apply inside Maya. If you wish to automate the motion tracking, which is significantly more efficient and accurate, you can run an external program. In fact, Autodesk MatchMover is bundled with Maya for just this very purpose.
