ABSTRACT

Higher education encompasses a complex array of educational delivery. However, it is a term used variously by different people in different contexts such as differences in use between the U.S. and the U.K. Some use it as a synonym for college; others use it to include both university/college education and vocational education; others use it only for programs that lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate of some sort. The only consistent elements that identify a context as higher education are that it is post-secondary education.
