ABSTRACT
The design of optimal PSMC systems is significantly influenced by the nature of the service area. An earlier chapter described the implementation of a capitated managed care system in an urban area with a predominant ethnic minority population (See chapter by Barbour, Floyd, and Connery). This chapter discussed implementation of PSMC in rural settings.
