ABSTRACT

Most cameras are supplied with some software but more sophisticated results are available using software such as Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is equally possible to create links to themes that may be part of the Art curriculum, like self-portraits, or may be cross-curricular, like mini-beasts, our school or indeed almost any context that would supply interesting, accessible subjects to be photographed. The first information and communication technology activity needs to familiarise the children with the digital camera and the way that the view finder may display a slightly different view from the image that the camera takes. More sophisticated cameras may offer the opportunity to view the image on the Liquid Crystal Display screen at the back of the camera as the picture is taken.
