ABSTRACT

Introduction The use of coursework both as a teaching strategy and as a means of assessment is

integral to the majority of business education courses. It enables an in-depth and

more extensive exploration of a topic, often including an element of first-hand

investigation based either on an analysis of secondary information or on fieldwork

in the form of visits, interviews, surveys and questionnaires. As suggested in this

chapter, a key to successful coursework is in its planning, the linking to assessment

objectives and the support offered to students.
