ABSTRACT
We have repeatedly used examples, illustrations, and abbreviated case studies to illustrate principles and techniques delineated throughout this book. Students and counselors can gain an overall perspective by studying complete counseling sessions from beginning to end. The cases presented here are verbatim reproductions of actual counseling sessions recorded by the authors. Explanatory comments are inserted at appropriate places for the purpose of showing significance and interpretation of information forthcoming in the dialogue. This indicates the thinking of the counselor as he/she proceeds. The reader should take special note that the cases concentrate on current situations and are devoid of extensive history taking.
