ABSTRACT

The objectives for the middle portion of the session, and the middle phases within the treatment series, are: expression and communication, character and role development, group collaboration, and self-revelation. The majority of techniques categorized under the first three of these objectives are most appropriate for Phase Two (Scenework) of a treatment series, with the excep-- tion of Telephone, a primary drama therapy technique that can be adapted to all phases within the series. The techniques categorized under the last objec-- tive, self-revelation, are geared toward Phases Three (Role Play) and Four (Culminating Enactment). As the nine techniques involving self-revelation all hold a paramount place in drama therapy, this final section is the most devel-- oped section of the chapter.
