ABSTRACT

As this book goes to press, the outlines of the next revolution in behavioral health care delivery are beginning to emerge. These outlines constitute the framework of the American Health Security Act: a national health care initiative so firmly built upon managed care that it was originally entitled “managed competition”. Because managed care is the underlying framework for the American Health Security Act, we can expect that in the near future there will be even more incentive for psychotherapists to become affiliated with managed care organizations.
