ABSTRACT

Introduction Although balancing the relative levels of your audio tracks is the most crucially important aspect of mixing, signal processing probably comes a close second.

So what do we mean by signal processing anyway? This is a general term for applying various types of change to the audio-which is considered to be a signal just like any other kind of information that is communicated in some way. In music production, the term signal processing usually refers to applying processes such as EQ or compression, or adding reverberation, delays, or other special eff ects.
