ABSTRACT

Despite a well-reported susceptibility to injury in many athletic populations, the elbow remains relatively poorly understood in terms of optimal rehabilitation strategies. Athletes who engage in repetitive upper-limb activities are very susceptible to injury at the elbow, either through repetitive microtrauma or acute overload. Whilst collision and contact-related injuries to the elbow are reported in certain sporting groups, the largest impact in keeping athletes on the field can arguably be made by the appropriate evaluation and treatment of overuse injuries.
