ABSTRACT

It is said that radio has a greater audience than TV worldwide. Radio is available in so many forms – national, local, community, hospital, prison, student and web-based – and on so many different platforms – analogue, digital, Internet, satellite and cable. You don’t need a radio to be able to hear it – use a mobile, computer, app or TV, and wind-up radios are available for remote places without power. According to Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR) in the UK we listen to around three hours of radio per day, or around 21 hours per person per week.
