ABSTRACT

Arabia and the Sahara, but analogous geometries may be anticipated in delta-

ic petroleum reservoirs in rocks of different ages and on different continents.

Such reservoirs provide challenges for development geologists and reservoir

engineers alike, for it is essential to delineate the geometry of the channels,

and to establish which ones are in communication with one another. This

important topic wi l l be considered at greater length in the following section

on the economic aspects of deltaic deposits.
