ABSTRACT
Recent deep water sands may be defined as those deposited below the mud line, that is to say below the level where wave, storm and tidally generated currents operate. Deep water sands occur in both fresh water and in marine settings of varied water depth. For marine environments deep water normally means below level of the continental shelf (>200 m ).
