ABSTRACT

In 1945 the creative people were in charge. We made films the way we wanted and spent as we liked. The result was some of the best British films ever made. But we brought the Organization to bankruptcy. So in came the businessmen and accountants, who curtailed the creative people and restored solvency. Now, the creative people need some curb. But the businessmen get bitten with films. They think they know more about them than the filmmakers. They start to dictate the sort of pictures to be made, how they should be made, who should be in them, and even the background music.
