ABSTRACT

Part 2 has two purposes. The first is to provide a perspective on why parents raise their children as they do, especially in cases where parental behavior has harmed the children or put them at risk. This will help professionals to have a focused and compassionate perspective on parents. This, in turn, is essential to successful treatment. The second is to rank the explanations in terms of the extent of distortion of information processing, representation, and self-protective/child-protective strategy. This will help professionals to individualize and shape the treatment plan, and that also is essential to treatment success.
