ABSTRACT

Russell was disturbed by the fact that due to the antagonism of the press on both sides of the Atlantic he was not able to make known to the public at large his views on American policies and he had to rely increasingly on the limited resources of the radical press to publicize his information. Liberation, IF Stone’s Weekly, The Nation, Frontier and The Minority of One were among those American journals most sympathetic to Russell’s position. Russell had joined, at the end of 1962, the Board of Sponsors of The Minority of One, an “independent monthly for an American alternative, dedicated to the eradication of all restrictions on thought,” edited by M.S. Arnoni.
