ABSTRACT

For example, when I was a kid, and I wanted to play baseball in the spring, I was always the guy who would call a bunch of friends and form a team. But I don’t think I ever had a lightening strike hit me and say, “Genghis Khan, here I come.” In business, politics, or academia, opportunities present themselves. Some people take advantage of these opportunities, whereas others don’t. I guess I did. In the case of baseball, I wasn’t very good, and, if I had waited for people to call me, I don’t think they ever would have!
