ABSTRACT
MEN AND THE WOMEN’S MOVEMENT It is difficult to avoid generalisations when talking about heterosexual men’s relationships to feminism, but it is a crucial issue if we are to face the challenges of feminism for men whilst also recognising the importance of men rediscovering and reworking their inherited forms of masculinity. This is in part something that men have to do for themselves and it is important to learn from history in this regard. It is bound to bring into focus men’s relationships with each other and so inevitably the relationship of heterosexual with gay men.
