ABSTRACT

Educators transitioning from teaching to administration typically experience anxiety, and their ability to deal with their concerns depends largely on their knowledge of themselves and of the complexities of administration. Judy Carrigan found out quickly that her initial perceptions of being an assistant principal at Valley Middle School were incorrect-a discovery contributing to job dissatisfaction. Feeling disappointed and alone, she may make decisions that she later will regret. Her willingness and ability to analyze her situation accurately are critically important to her future.
