ABSTRACT
We have developed a general framework for requisite knowledge in organizations. We now consider what this means for the future development of universities. Universities – and colleges and other ‘units’ of higher education – are the engines of development of requisite knowledge for the economy and for society, but they also need their own requisite knowledge to be effective.
