ABSTRACT

Recent advances in information technology (video-disk, videotape, cable satellite, pay-TV, among others) have greatly enhanced the efficiency of worldwide delivery in the television industry. As in other industries a significant cut in delivery costs, where these are important, translates into a significant lowering in barriers to international trade in television programming. It is the purpose of this article to explore the opportunities that may exist for Indian producers of films and television programmes to export their product to Canada. Of course, similar export opportunities may exist in other countries.
