ABSTRACT

A further factor that greatly helps children to cope in school is the safety that the group offers in terms of its routines and behavioural boundaries. In so far as the former is concerned, the sessions can be carefully planned with this in mind, so that you can have the same activities in the same order and on the same day each week. A visual timetable is used to show the activities for each session, but the children quickly learn what they will be doing according to which day it is. This aspect is really important for those children who do not like changes to their routine, such as those with Asperger’s syndrome.
