ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the main aims of the EPPE research and the way we identified our pre-schools and child sample. It also outlines the data collection procedures, including how children were assessed at different time points throughout the study. It discusses the rationale for our choice of research design and why we chose to focus on exploring ‘educational effectiveness’ in the preschool, and describes the methodology and analysis strategies.
