ABSTRACT
More than thirty years have passed since the surrender of Singapore, and recriminations and accusations have never really ceased. The British troops have been accused of being unprepared and unable to adapt to circumstances. The Australians have been described as courageous in bat tle but squalid in defeat. The Indians have been called under-trained and their officers resentful over race dis crimination in the clubs of Malaya.
