ABSTRACT

In this chapter we will consider the ways in which democratic and authoritarian regimes are contributing (or not contributing) to economic development in Third World countries. Firstly, we will consider the following question: What are the consequences, for democratic and authoritarian regimes respectively, of economic development in the Third World?
