A meditation on death: “Cast a cold eye”

This chapter treats the last stage of human development. It is about death, potentially the most human of all experiences. It is also about the period directly prior to death that follows the turn from the last generative years to a final stage of depletion immediately preceding the end of life as we know it. This period is to death what the perinatal is to birth.
