ABSTRACT
My initial reaction to this was to defend myself, explaining that I, too, was upset about the way the media covered cosmetic surgery and that I was on the side of the recipients, not the plastic surgeons or the pharmaceutical companies. I attempted to establish my feminist cre dentials and sooth my caller’s ruffled feathers by situating us on the same side of the fence. Our conversation came to an amicable close.
