ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I offer a defense of the coexistence thesis. Section 1 prepares the ground by contrasting this thesis with animalism. Sections 2-3 provide two arguments for the coexistence thesis. This argument is then completed by offering, in section 4, a suffi cient condition for the presence of two fundamental entities in one body.
