ABSTRACT
Innovation is as old as mankind and lies at the heart of human survival, progress and, of course, destruction. Controlling fi re to keep warm, making basic tools, growing food-all had their origins thousands of years ago and were as innovative as the development of automobiles, computing and telecommunications today. Defi nitions of innovation vary enormously and the concept is treated differently across disciplines and through time and space.
