Education policy and the harmonization of political science as a discipline

Recent developments in the European Higher Education Area have raised questions about the future course of universities in Europe. There are studies which have tried to explain the current change and its impact on higher education (e.g. Chapter 5, this volume). Research on the outcomes of education policies on individual disciplines is, however, lacking. This chapter aims to fill the gap by looking at the discipline of political science, including a focus on its internationalization and harmonization.
