Pursue contrasting lines of analysis through selections from jazz and European classical repertory.
Review the distinctions between tonicization and modulation, application of Roman numerals, criteria for determining chord-scale identification, and the ramifications of these concerns for the improviser.
Examine how localized parts of compositions relate to the whole.
