ABSTRACT
The essays in this volume challenge us to reflect on what we know about culture, society, and behavior change, both past and present. Changing cultures, social forms, and sexual activities as they relate to the demography and epidemiological status of populations, for example, have been of central concern to policy makers and social analysts in the past few decades. Our perception and understanding of these matters, however, has undergone recent change.
