ABSTRACT
ON Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Sarah fasted and prayed. The next day was the 27th. All day they watched the horizon for the smoke which would signal the Monegam. They watched in vain, and by nightfall Sarah knew that her name was no longer inscribed in the book of life. Calmly Sarah remained at her post, waiting for the disaster which nothing could now prevent.
