ABSTRACT
LISHANSKY, when he fled from Zichron, hid in caves in the mountain above Faradis village. He had no food beyond the loaves of bread which Sarah had sent him that first night, and after three days hunger drove him out. He was wearing his Arab kaffieh and abbaya, and he intended to escape to his friends, the Druze or the Metuwallee, up in the Lebanon.
