Sound and rooms

The subject of this chapter is the nature of sound and the manner in which it propagates in rooms. Of necessity the treatment of the subject here is rather selective. Many standard texts cover the standard issues in more detail. For those that like a well-illustrated coverage, the book by Egan (1988) has much to recommend it.
