ABSTRACT

As historical experience shows, the combat effectiveness of an army, and successful warfare depends on many factors: the political goals and economic capabilities of the state, the personnel strength and armaments of forces, their training and combat morale, military art, the abilities and resolution of actions of military leaders, and other specific conditions. Among the last mentioned, one of the most important conditions determining victories and defeats has always been the level of training of commanders, staff and troops. The problem of training of the armed forces is connected with the resolution of a two-fold problem. First, it is important to envisage correctly the possible nature and ways of conducting future war, and accordingly determine the components of military training. Second, it is necessary to define training methods for troops, to find such forms and methods of training which would provide the realization of advanced approaches to ways of conducting war, and corresponding requirements for the training of forces.
