ABSTRACT

Pupil assessment is another high priority in teacher education. On the one hand, teachers must conduct ongoing assessment of each of their pupils in order to teach them effectively. Program planning and all other teaching activities are dependent on determining the knowledge, abilities, interests, and needs of pupils. On the other hand, and increasingly today, teachers are required to prepare their students for standardized tests, conduct some of these tests, and write complex reports for parents, government and school district officials, and others.
