ABSTRACT

Since the first interpersonal communication course was introduced at Antioch College in the mid-20th century, society has changed markedly. Historical shifts in attitudes and values have resulted in a focus on human rights, women’s rights, sexual freedoms, no-fault divorce, family first initiatives, and a host of other social transitions and changes. Moreover, revolutionary technologies have emerged that facilitate communication to anyone, anywhere, at anytime.
