ABSTRACT
Accents matter! To miss an accent mark where there should be one, or to write one where there should not be one, constitutes a spelling error in Spanish. We will also see in this chapter that by misplacing or omitting an accent, or adding one where it does not belong, we may be writing something quite different in meaning from what was originally intended. In order to know how accents work, you need to learn certain rules that will help you integrate sound and spelling.
