Many words in English and Spanish have similar sounds but different spelling. Note that:
1 The following letter combinations do not exist in Spanish: dd adición (addition) ff diferente (different) mm comercial (commercial) ph alfabeto (alphabet) pp apropiado (appropriate) ss posible (possible) tt atención (attention)
Mnemonic device To remember all the combinations of double consonants that do exist in Spanish just think of the name CAROLINE, which contains all of them: CC-RR-LL-NN.
