ABSTRACT

In 1879, shortly after its author’s death, Frances Ridley Havergal’s Kept for the Master’s Use was published, a companion volume of devotional prose to her famous, beloved Consecration Hymn, “Take My Life and Let it Be.” In the fi rst chapter, Havergal meditates both on the Christian’s need for complete submission to the Lord Jesus Christ, and on the rewards that come from such utter self-abnegation.
