ABSTRACT

My office is located on the very southern edge of the Hebrew University’s Mt. Scopus campus. From my window I can see the Old City of Jerusalem, with its timeless halo covering the golden glimmer of the Temple (and Mosque) Mount. My deepest political anxiety is that one day I will witness through that frame the beginning of the end – the blowing up of one of the Mosques, or of the Temple’s Western “Wailing Wall.” Or will it be the nearby Church of the Holy Sepulcher?
