ABSTRACT
As has already been considered, the primary aim of the Community is the creation of a common market. This has meant that the Community has had to ensure that all unnecessary barriers to trade are removed. Member States have to play their part by, for example, ensuring the removal of all customs duties while also ensuring that national laws do not, amongst other things, create unnecessary pecuniary or quantitative restrictions to trade or hinder the free movement of persons within the Community.
