ABSTRACT
Platonists believe in abstract entities. Abstract entities do not exist in space and time (or in spacetime), are unchanging, and do not interact causally with spatiotemporal things. Why should anybody be a platonist and believe in such entities? My answer to this question is uncharitable and depressing and Wittgensteinian. My answer is that people are tricked by language into believing in abstract entities.
