ABSTRACT
Being a midwife working in an academic setting may sound idyllic. In many ways this is the perfect job. As a midwife, I find the freedom to organise my own work and pursue my own occupational interests incredible. In this section, though, I reflect on how this occupational freedom may be used and whether there are any other ways in which it may be interpreted.
