ABSTRACT

People are always fascinated when I say I am a midwife and yet very few ask me why I became one. Maybe that’s a good thing, because I always feel my answer would disappoint; I would like to say that it’s a career I have always wanted to do; that it was a calling, a need to be in touch with the life force or some divine inspiration. Well OK, maybe the last one is going a bit far. But anyway something serious and meditated, after careful consideration. You get the picture.
