The role of state, non-state, and hybrid actors in localizing global scripts in East Asia

This polycentric understanding of regulation calls for a decentered understanding of globalization where states are only one of many regulators competing to control the domestic adaptation and implementation of global scripts. State-centered explanations for globalization fail to adequately explain how non-state and state/ non-state hybrid actors influence nation-states to select and adapt global scripts and have themselves become players in adapting and localizing global forces.
